Description

This is for my group :iconcatalystdesign: for the topic of storm. Im not very good at clouds as you can see but i tried my best haha. I tried to make it look darker in the background to represent sort of a stormish look. There's also rain but you cant see it unfortunately.
I had a lot of fun with this drawing. It took me a couple of hours to make, but im really proud of it. I also got to try out some of my charcoal pencils.
Originally the dragon was gonna be blacker than the background, but it looked weird to me so i earased it.

This is very cool! I really like how smoothly curved the lines of the dragon are, and the perspective in which the wings are done. It really gives the picture a cleaner feel, and makes it nicer to look at graphically.

Pertaining to the issue of clouds, you might want to have a look at a
couple
pictures
of
them.

If you study references of clouds you'll notice that they aren't uniform and take on lots of different shapes and sizes. They also overlap, and depending on the perspective you are looking at them from and the angle of light, they can have vastly varying shading. They can also vary in consistency from the huge puffy storm clouds to a gentle mist, especially depending on their altitude. Here is a chart of general different types of clouds. So you have lots of different approaches to choose from if you want to practice clouds. :D

Sorry if this is too much. I just happen to be fond of cloud geekery. :)
